Boat Deck Update

Today has been very productive with the completion of the boat decks main framework and the creation of the raised walkway.  The walkway is from brass etch and is part of the range of N gauge accessories for detailing model railways, but to my surprise when I measured it the size was just perfect!

The walkway is about 60cm long and whilst that may not sound a lot, when its made from 5 pieces and has two angled sections it surprising how long it takes to build this part up.  There was several times that I soldered it then took it apart to re-align it as it did not fit correctly.  As you can see from the photos below it joins the foreword and aft decks.

We have reached another milestone as the model now has taken over 400 hours of build time, but we are close to completing the Hampshire now with just the rigging and aerial cables being the final big job, and then its to the detailing and small fixtures.
